Crew 2 captain Marco Micaletto has a different journey to Columbus than many of his teammates

For some, soccer is just a hobby. It is something that a person plays in order to be a part of something. It is something that someone may do in order to become more active.

For Columbus Crew 2 captain Marco Micaletto, however, soccer is a way of life.

“When I was four or five, Roma won the league,” Micaletto remembered. “And I remember my parents and me out in the street celebrating. That was the moment that I truly fell in love with (soccer)”.

Crew 2 avenge early season loss, beat Inter Miami FC II 5-0

Columbus Crew 2 picked up right where the team left off after last Saturday's game against Chicago Fire II, opening the scoring just eight minutes into Thursday’s home game at Historic Crew Stadium and never looked back en route to a 5-0 Crew 2 victory against Inter Miami II.

Columbus came into the game with just two losses on the season, with one of those being to Miami in the team’s first-ever game. Three of the past four halves for the Black & Gold have been anything but exceptional, as they

Crew 2’s Jacen Russell-Rowe earns MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Month honors for May

For the first time in the history of Columbus Crew 2, the Black & Gold have a player named Player of the Month. On Tuesday, MLS Next Pro announced various awards, including naming Jacen Russell-Rowe the league's Player of the Month for May.

MLS Next Pro awards are determined by votes from the league's editorial team, league personnel, announcers and the clubs themselves. Like in MLS, these awards take into account all players who qualify for the honor.

Russell-Rowe had an outstanding month of

Crew 2’s seven-game win streak snapped in 4-0 loss to Rochester New York FC

As is the common phrase, all good things must come to an end. That is what happened Sunday afternoon to Columbus Crew 2. The Black & Gold reserve team lost 4-0 loss to Rochester New York FC at Historic Crew Stadium, snapping a seven-game winning streak that dates back to the opening contest of the MLS NEXT Pro season.

Sunday’s contest felt like a game where Columbus just could not get things going. Crew 2 had previously been stout defensively, only conceding five goals leading up to this contes

Crew 2 brings the storm back to Columbus with 4-2 vs. Toronto FC II

Columbus Crew 2 had to wait an additional 17 hours before being able to kick off the team’s first, and only, scheduled game at Lower.com Field. Following multiple weather delays for the first team on Saturday, Crew 2’s contest, which was supposed to be part of an exciting double header for Black & Gold fans, was pushed until Sunday.

But once the match did, Columbus did not disappoint. Crew 2 brought a second storm through Columbus Sunday afternoon, defeating Toronto FC II 4-2.

Crew 2 drops first-ever MLS NEXT Pro game to Inter Miami II 2-0

After a long, grueling preseason, Columbus Crew 2, playing in the new MLS NEXT Pro league got the team’s first taste of competitive action. Crew 2 had five preseason friendlies to get up to fitness and build some much-needed chemistry. It was not enough, however, as Crew 2 fell 2-0 to Inter Miami II.

The Crew 2 roster is made up of players from six different countries, and almost all of these players were playing together for the first time on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale. In the end, the differ

The Crew’s new signings impressed in their Black & Gold debuts

The Columbus Crew made a slew of new signings throughout the offseason. But, none may have been as big as the two new names in the starting lineup for the first time Saturday afternoon when the Columbus Crew earned a 4-0 home win against the Vancouver Whitecaps to open the new year in Yaw Yeboah and Milos Degenek.

Let’s start with Yaw Yeboah. The Ghanian winger was very good in his first match for the Crew. The right side of the pitch should be a worry for opposing teams with Yeboah and right b

Eloy Room helps Columbus to a 2-1 victory

Columbus finally was able to get a win on the road. It sure was not easy, and they definitely had to grind it out, but in the end, they left Atlanta with a crucial three points heading into the international break.

First, let's discuss how crucial Eloy Room was. Room was instrumental in helping the Crew earn the 2-1 victory Saturday night, making 8 crucial saves, tying his career-high in saves with the Black and Gold. It seemed whenever Atlanta looked as if they were going to score, Room was th

Columbus Cruises To Victory Over Vancouver In The Season Opener

It is not very often that a team comfortably wins in Major League Soccer. But, Saturday afternoon in Columbus, Ohio was one of those matches. The game was all Black and Gold from the opening whistle, and the Crew never looked back. Columbus had 56% of the possession, but it felt like they had the ball much more than that. Columbus outshot Vancouver 22-7 on shots, including 7-0 shots on goal. It felt like Vancouver rarely had the ball, and it was just a complete performance from the Crew.
